We all know those people, right? The happy ones. What is their secret? Are they faking it?
Some may be but others just have a more optimistic outlook or have built up their resilience to negative life circumstances.
Do you want to be Happy all the time? Why? What will you get from being happy? What will you get from being sad?
Life is Full of Ups and Downs
How you think about and relate to ups and downs of life actually indicate whether or not you will be happy.
If you think that any negative thing that happens is a crisis and someone or something is out to get you then how you feel will be different than if you think something is a normal event in life that you are capable of handling.
I created a video in which I ask you the question about your thoughts around having a 50% positive 50% negative life.
You can watch that video here.
What does a 50/50 life Mean to You and How can that Serve You?
In the video I talk about my mentor Brooke Castillo who lives life with the thought it is 50/50. The idea that life is 50% positive and 50% negative. Looking at the reality of life as well as the idea that without both sides you wouldn’t have a way to compare and enjoy the difference.
In America we have rights to the pursuit of happiness. What does the pursuit of happiness mean to you?
Decide if You Want to Think About Having a 50/ 50 Life and it’s Benefits
When you start to see life as 50/50 then you start to have more realistic expectations. You acknowledge that life is not always going to be easy, but that there is also positivity and joy to be found.
A 50/50 life abounds with gratitude. You become more likely to appreciate the good things in life and feel gratitude for them.
This garners a more balanced perspective on life, avoiding the extremes of overly positive or negative thinking.
Do you want to have gratitude, realistic expectations, more resilience, a balanced perspective on life, and more self-compassion? Then think about embracing the 50/50 life.
How will you allow thoughts about a 50/50 life serve you?
